Shiva.... The name itself is a mistry. To truly understand Shiva, it is vital to know that Shiva is not limited to three things: name, form and time. More importantly, Shiva is not a person sitting in some place or up in the sky.
Shiva is Sha + ee + Va
Sha stands for Shareeram or body
ee stands for eeshwari or life giving energy
Va stands for vayu or motion

Thus, Shiva represents the body with life and motion.
If the ‘ee’ is removed from Shiva, it gets reduced to sha+va = shava.
Shava means a lifeless body. Shiva is with the potential of life, whereas Shava is lifeless.
Now one big question arises that If shiva is formless then whose picture is this 👇
Most of persons Who believe in facts and proofs they allways arise questions that why  the Indian god have many hands, heads, many eyes ,different colours and different different physical appearance.... If they were lived beyond the sky then where are they now.. so they think there is nothing like god. They believe in work... actually that not Fully true.. because they don't know the real truth even those how believe in god they also don't know why they are worshiping the idols.
In ancient ages the rushi munis were represented the god to understand and follow the  ideal lifestyle and to get concentrated. Every cripture in the satya sanatan dharma represents a different situations of a yogi(or a devamanaba). Every murti/ idol represents a story... Let's understand how it's shows by taking example of lord Shiva's picture.
THE SECRET STORY BEHIND THE SHIVA
As per we look at this Shiva's image we can identify that from his jata the river Ganga is falling down wards, he have candrama/moon on his head, he have an eye in the centre of the forehead, he is wearing kundali/ear rings in his ear, he is allways in happy face, his neck is dark in colour and a cobra snake is situated around the neck, he is wearing a skinn of tiger / sometime fully nacked, he pour vasma/ ash on his full body, he allways carry the trident with his hand, and a dmbru and so on...
I can write a book by describing lord shiba, even though I will not be able to cover all the facts... So here is a picture which will give you an idea that what is the shiva rupa is trying to tell us...👇
Shiva tatwa is not  an easy subject to describe. No one in this world can describe who is shiva.... But to know a brief knowledge about Shiba tatwa we. Must know these following factors.

1- shiva is formless. Every where in this world the shiva is present in such a formles state that nothing can control/ bind  Him within itself.
2- shiva is beyond time. Shiba was allways there , even though there was nothing and he will be in the end of the era... He runs faster than the time so he controls the time.
3-shiva is ultimate and powerful. Every thing in this world is created by shiva and will be destroyed then will be merged within Him. So He is the ultimate power.
Which part of shiva is stands for what...?
The picture of lord Shiva represents the ultimate state of a yogi. Where the yogi became a deva purusha. By which a yogi can completely destroy his own all demarites and all gunas. That's why the lord Shiv is known as the destroyer.
The Ganga on his head represents the pure knowledge which have no dualities. Which is flowing from the top- means the wisdom which came from sahasra/ or the top of the brain( to know about the sahaaraa stay tuned soon I will publish the article). It also represents that a yogi must have pure and undoubted mentality.
The chandrama/moon on his head represents the calmness and harmless thniking... With speeding blessings to all over the world equally... He is allways santa chita.
His 3rd eye in the centre of the forehead represents the ajana chakra/ gyana chakra. Which destroys all dualities and Evils. In shiva Purana it's described that no one can stand against the 3rd eye of lord shiva. Which means when the yogi concentrate his consciousness deeply in the agyan chakra or the 3rd eye by destroying all the gunas and mental & physical disturbance he gets to such a state where all the universal things and rules disappear and the yogi starts to enter the cosmic world.
He use vashma/ash on his skin. The chita vashma was of kamadebata.. according to the shiba purana after destroying kama devata as ash  by opening his 3rd he take bath on that ash...
Which means a yogi must avoid or destroy the kama or sex mentality and desires with pure knowledge. A yogi must stay at that state allways...
He wear small clothes sometimes he don't.   We wear clothes because we have kama bhabana/ sex mentality within us.. but the shiva don't have any kind of kama basana.
 The trident and the dambru
The trident is represets the ida, nila and pingala of our body( which is also the main factor of kundalini. Soon a article I will publish it). When in our body when the kundalini activates then the we become able to listen the holy sounds of the universe. The damru is stands for the sound of the universe.
So these are some basic knowledge of shiva tatwa.. in the second part of shiva tatwamidhma we will discuss about the scientific reason of shiva lingpujan and value of the jyotirlingas .  click to read the article on what is actual religious motive and yoga
